On May 7, Sushma was married to a man from Ashta village, with Vinod Maharaj, a local priest, officiating the ceremony. After performing the rituals, Sushma went to her in-laws' house. Just three days later, she returned to her parental home. Meanwhile, another wedding was scheduled for May 23, which Vinod was also set to officiate. However, he failed to show up that night, prompting a search that yielded no results. At the same time, Sushma was also missing, leading the family to file a police report.

The priest who married Sushma on May 7 was the same one she eloped with on May 23. This revelation might come as a shock, but it gets even more surprising.
