Bride Disappears After Marriage in Rajasthan, Groom Files Police Complaint
Incident Overview
In a surprising turn of events in Rajasthan, a bride vanished shortly after her wedding, prompting her husband's family to search for her extensively. After exhausting their efforts, the groom decided to file a complaint with the police. This incident took place in Bharatpur, specifically in the Nagla Bhad village within the Bayana police jurisdiction.
According to reports, the groom's family had paid the bride's side a sum of 3 lakh rupees for the marriage, which took place recently.
Details of the Case
Thirteen days post-wedding, the bride fled from her new home. The affected groom, Narayan Singh Gurjar, subsequently lodged a report at the police station. In his complaint, he mentioned that the marriage was facilitated by Hari Singh Gurjar from Bhagatpura village in the Dholpur district. On March 6, Hari visited Narayan's home and introduced himself as an acquaintance of Ramdhan Gurjar from the Ghati Gaw area in Madhya Pradesh.
Hari proposed the marriage of his sister, Sunita, and requested 3 lakh rupees as a part of the arrangement.
The Wedding and Subsequent Disappearance
Narayan agreed to the financial request without hesitation. On the evening of March 9, Hari, along with his associates Jeetu and Ramdin, arrived at Narayan's house to finalize the wedding discussions and received the cash payment. After completing the marriage formalities at Narayan's residence, Hari, Jeetu, and Ramdin left Sunita with Narayan.
Narayan claims that on March 22, around 6 PM, he went to the forest for a bathroom break, leaving Sunita alone at home. Upon returning, he found her missing. Despite searching the vicinity, he could not locate her. He then contacted Jeetu and the intermediary Hari, who distanced themselves from the situation, stating they had already completed the marriage and had no further involvement.
Legal Action Taken
After 13 days of searching, Narayan approached the police to file his complaint. He alleges that Jeetu, Ramdin, and Sunita deceived him under the pretense of marriage, resulting in a fraud of 3 lakh rupees. The police have registered the case and are currently investigating the matter, with formal proceedings initiated through an Istigasa.
