Shocking Demands on Wedding Night

In a startling incident from Agra, a bride made an outrageous demand of ₹90 lakhs from her husband on their wedding night. When her request was denied, she refused to consummate the marriage and, along with her family, attempted to set her in-laws' house ablaze by tampering with the gas pipeline.

Details of the Incident

The case involves a woman doctor’s brother who recently married a girl from Hathras. Upon arriving at her in-laws' home, the bride shocked everyone by stating that she was only interested in money and did not wish to continue the marriage unless she received the hefty sum. She explicitly stated, 'I need ₹90 lakhs on the wedding night to proceed with the relationship.' This left the groom in a state of panic.

Attempted Arson and Kidnapping

When the groom and his family expressed their inability to meet her financial demands, tensions escalated. The bride called her relatives, who, along with some local thugs, locked the family inside the house. The situation turned dire when they broke the PNG gas pipeline, intending to cause an explosion and harm the in-laws.

Escape and Legal Action

The victimized family managed to alert neighbors, who came to their rescue. Amid the chaos, the bride reportedly stole valuable jewelry from her mother-in-law and fled with her family. Initially, the local police dismissed the family's complaint, prompting the victimized doctor to seek legal intervention. Following a court order, the police have now registered a case against the bride, her father, and accomplices under serious charges, while also considering the implications under the Dowry Act.
