Brave Woman Prevents Train Disaster in Uttar Pradesh
A Life-Saving Encounter on the Tracks
Trains have become an essential mode of travel in our lives, known for their safety on tracks. However, accidents can still occur, especially if the tracks are damaged. Railway staff are usually vigilant in checking the tracks to prevent such incidents.
Imagine a scenario where railway workers are unable to inspect the tracks, and a break occurs. This was the concern of a rural woman from Uttar Pradesh who, upon spotting a broken track, acted swiftly to avert a potential disaster, saving countless passengers. Her quick thinking has garnered widespread praise on social media.
Incident in Etah, Uttar Pradesh
The woman who averted the disaster hails from the Gularia village in the Awagarh area of Etah. Omvati was on her way to her fields around 8 AM when she noticed something alarming near the Kulba railway halt station, located just 100 meters away.
To her shock, she discovered a broken railway track. Knowing that a train was scheduled to pass through shortly, she realized the gravity of the situation, as this was the usual time for the Etah-Tundla passenger train.
How She Saved the Passengers
Initially stunned, Omvati quickly regained her composure and decided to take action to protect the travelers. She rushed back home, grabbed a red cloth, and returned to the site of the broken track. Demonstrating remarkable presence of mind, she tied the red cloth near the damaged track.
Not stopping there, she waited for the train to arrive. Soon, the sound of the Etah-Tundla passenger train's whistle filled the air. As the train approached, she waved her sari's red pallu to attract attention.
The Train Comes to a Halt
Omvati's clever signaling with the red cloth and her sari caught the attention of the train's locomotive pilot. Acting quickly, he applied the emergency brakes, bringing the train to a stop just short of the broken track.
Once the train halted and the driver disembarked, Omvati pointed out the damaged track. The pilot was astonished and immediately notified the authorities. Within half an hour, the track was repaired, allowing the train to continue its journey. Omvati's quick thinking has made her a sensation on social media, as she understood that a red signal indicates danger.
