BRAS's Claims of Attacks

Quetta, Jan 12: The Baloch Raaji Aajoi Sangar (BRAS), a coalition of pro-independence militant groups in Balochistan, has asserted that it was behind 174 assaults on Pakistani security personnel throughout 2025, resulting in the deaths of 167 military and intelligence members, as reported by local media.

The organization also indicated that these confrontations led to injuries for 95 security officials across the province.

In its recent infographic report for 2025, BRAS noted that its operatives captured 26 individuals during these assaults, which included members of Pakistani intelligence agencies, according to reports from The Balochistan Post.

The report detailed that BRAS executed 35 explosions, 14 raid operations, and 35 cordon-and-search missions, targeting 15 infrastructure sites, destroying 30 vehicles belonging to the Pakistani government and military, and confiscating 51 weapons.

Furthermore, BRAS claimed that in August 2025, it achieved a significant victory in Balochistan by taking control of Zehri town in Khuzdar for over a month, during which Pakistani forces were heavily targeted, as per the report.

The group alleged that it seized numerous vehicles, weapons, and military gear, and that its fighters conducted patrols and engaged with the public during their control of the area.

Recently, armed factions associated with the BRAS alliance also published their annual operational reports for 2025.

According to the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), its fighters conducted 521 attacks last year, resulting in over 1,060 fatalities among Pakistani military personnel and injuring more than 556.

The BLA reported destruction of vehicles, quadcopters, surveillance towers, and military infrastructure, along with the seizure of 208 weapons.

The Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) also claimed responsibility for 581 armed assaults against Pakistani security forces in Balochistan during 2025, leading to 929 casualties, including 647 security personnel killed and 282 injured.

In its annual report covering January to December 2025, the BLF stated that these operations inflicted considerable human and material losses on Pakistani security forces.

In a media statement, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch characterized 2025 as a "decisive and exceptional year" for what the group refers to as the "national resistance struggle" in Balochistan.

Additionally, the Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) reported conducting 88 attacks across various provinces in Pakistan, including Balochistan, Sindh, and Punjab, targeting railway lines used by Pakistani forces, checkpoints, police stations, gas pipelines, and communication towers, claiming the lives of 22 Pakistani personnel and injuring 35 others.

Balochistan continues to suffer from ongoing abuses perpetrated by Pakistani authorities, who are accused of enabling death squads in the region to carry out enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and illegal detentions of Baloch individuals.
