The Bombay High Court in Goa has reversed a lower court's 2021 acquittal decision on Thursday, finding 61-year-old Tarun Tejpal, the former editor of 'Tehelka' magazine, guilty of raping a junior colleague during a 'ThinkFest' conference at a five-star hotel in Goa in 2013. The bench, comprising Justices Neela Gokhale and Amit Jamdar, sentenced Tejpal to ten years of rigorous imprisonment.
In May 2021, a fast-track court in Goa had acquitted Tejpal of charges related to rape and sexual assault.
