Bomb Threats Reported at Hyderabad Airport

On Saturday, GMR Hyderabad Airport announced that two international flights received bomb threats via emails sent to the airport's customer support ID. The flights affected were British Airways flight BA 277 and Kuwait Airways flight KU 373. The British Airways flight, arriving from Heathrow, landed safely at 5:25 AM. Following its arrival, standard security protocols were implemented. However, the Kuwait Airways flight, which was also en route to Hyderabad, had to return to its departure airport due to the threat.


On December 6, 2025, the customer support ID at Hyderabad Airport received another bomb threat email concerning flight BA 277 from Heathrow. This flight landed safely at 5:25 AM, and security measures were promptly enacted.


Additionally, on the same day, flight KU 373 from Kuwait also received a bomb threat email, prompting its return to the departure airport. Earlier, Air India flight AI 2879, traveling from Delhi to Hyderabad, was similarly threatened but landed safely at 8:45 PM, with standard security protocols applied post-landing.


Previously, Emirates flight EK526, coming from Dubai, was also subjected to a bomb threat. According to GMR's PRO, the threatening message reached the airport's customer support around 7:30 AM on December 5. The flight continued its journey under strict surveillance and landed safely at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport around 8:30 AM. After landing, security teams acted swiftly, relocating the aircraft to a secure area and safely disembarking all passengers according to standard operating procedures.
