Security Alert in Kullu and Nahan Courts

KULLU:
Panic ensued at the courts in Kullu and Nahan, Himachal Pradesh, on the morning of July 9, 2025, following bomb threats received through email. This led to immediate evacuations and extensive security measures.

The Himachal Pradesh Police acted quickly, initiating combing operations at both locations to ensure the safety of the public, deploying bomb disposal units and canine squads.

Officials reported that the District and Sessions Court complex in Kullu was cleared after an email warned of an explosion. Court personnel and lawyers were swiftly escorted out. Police teams, equipped with bomb detection technology and sniffer dogs, conducted a comprehensive search of the premises.

Similarly, the Nahan court complex in Sirmaur district also received a bomb threat via email early on Wednesday. The court was evacuated without delay, and a senior police officer arrived with a team to oversee security protocols.

This incident is not unprecedented in the state; in May, similar bomb threats were directed at the offices of the Deputy Commissioner in Kullu and Mandi, as well as the Secretariat in Shimla.
