Bomb Threat Investigation at Jhansi Railway Station

The Chhattisgarh Sampark Kranti Express, traveling from Delhi to Durg, was halted for nearly an hour at Jhansi Railway Station due to a bomb threat. Authorities confirmed on Saturday that the threat turned out to be a false alarm. Following the bomb scare, a thorough investigation was conducted at the station, and after confirming the absence of any suspicious items, the train was allowed to continue its journey.

According to officials, the train, designated as 12824, departed from Hazrat Nizamuddin around 6 PM on Friday. Shortly thereafter, an anonymous caller reported that a bomb was placed in one of the sleeper coaches of the train.

Upon receiving the alert, officials at the railway control room in Lucknow acted promptly, halting the train at Jhansi's Veerangana Lakshmibai Station for safety checks. District Magistrate Pramod Jha coordinated with Railway Superintendent of Police Vipul Kumar Srivastava, RPF Commandant Vivekanand Narayan, and security personnel to clear platforms two and three.

Other trains arriving at the station were redirected to different platforms while preparations for inspecting the Chhattisgarh Sampark Kranti were underway. Additionally, a dog squad and bomb disposal unit were summoned to assist in the investigation.

The train eventually arrived at Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Station at 11:31 PM, approximately nine minutes behind schedule. After a comprehensive search of all coaches revealed no suspicious items, the train resumed its journey at 12:24 AM, about 54 minutes after the initial halt. RPF Commandant Vivekanand Narayan stated that the extensive checks were conducted as a precautionary measure following the bomb threat.
