Patna, March 26: A bomb threat email led to a chaotic scene at the Muzaffarpur Civil Court complex on Thursday, causing alarm among lawyers, staff, and visitors.


Officials reported that around 11:30 a.m., a suspicious email was sent to the District Judge’s official email, claiming that an explosive device was planted within the court premises. In response, the administration acted swiftly, enhancing security measures and evacuating the entire complex as a precautionary step.


Law enforcement and administrative teams arrived promptly, establishing a secure perimeter and ensuring the safe evacuation of everyone present. Judicial activities were halted for the morning session due to the heightened security alert.


Advocate Rajesh Kumar mentioned that news about the suspension of court activities was disseminated via WhatsApp groups. Many lawyers discovered their offices locked, with clear directives to leave the premises.


Another lawyer, Sanjay Prasad, voiced his concerns regarding the incident, pointing out that such threats have become increasingly common in Bihar, raising significant security concerns.


Authorities are taking the situation very seriously, with an ongoing investigation to confirm the legitimacy of the threat and identify its source.


Bomb disposal and dog squads have been deployed to the court complex, conducting thorough searches. Every area of the premises is being meticulously examined for any suspicious or unattended items.


“Currently, no suspicious objects have been located, but all angles are being carefully monitored,” stated the DSP. He urged the public to refrain from spreading rumors and to cooperate with officials until the security checks are finalized.


Officials noted that in recent months, multiple courts across Bihar have received similar bomb threats, often resulting in panic and disruption of judicial proceedings.
