Bomb Threat at Jaipur's SMS Stadium Causes Panic Following Eden Gardens Incident

Bomb Scare Hits Jaipur's SMS Stadium
In a troubling turn of events, Jaipur's renowned Sawai Mansingh Stadium has been threatened with a bomb scare, just a day after a similar incident at Eden Gardens. On Thursday morning, an email warning of a bomb explosion at the stadium was sent to the Rajasthan State Sports Council, causing widespread alarm in the city. The email was received at 9:13 a.m., prompting immediate action from officials.
"The message claimed the stadium would be bombed following the success of 'Operation Sindoor'."
Council officials acted quickly, notifying the police control room without delay. A comprehensive security operation was launched almost immediately, involving armed personnel, Quick Reaction Teams (QRT), and bomb disposal units. The usually lively stadium was evacuated and sealed off for a thorough investigation.
Senior police officials, including Additional Police Commissioner Kunwar Rashtradeep and DCP South Digant Anand, arrived at the scene to oversee the operation. As of now, no explosives or suspicious items have been discovered, but the atmosphere remains tense.
Ongoing Threats Create Unease in Jaipur
The threat against SMS Stadium is part of a worrying trend in Jaipur, which has seen a series of similar bomb threats in recent months. On April 3, the Jaipur District Collectorate received a bomb threat that led to a massive search of nearly 200 rooms, although nothing harmful was found.
Earlier in February, SMS Medical College also received a bomb threat, which remained unopened for two days before being deemed a false alarm. The frequency of these threats is concerning, especially in light of rising cross-border tensions. This latest scare at the stadium follows a bomb threat at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 7, coinciding with a major cricket match between CSK and KKR.
