Bollywood Actress Reveals Shocking Assault by Director
Gehana Vasisth's Disturbing Experience
Navigating the Bollywood film industry can be incredibly challenging. Many aspiring actors and actresses flock to Mumbai with dreams of stardom, but only a few achieve success. Unfortunately, some face exploitation and are coerced into compromising situations.
One such actress, Gehana Vasisth, recently shared her harrowing experience in an interview. She recounted a traumatic incident involving a director when she was new to the industry. Let's delve into her story.
Alcohol and Assault
In a candid interview last year, Gehana revealed her background, stating, "I hail from a small village in Chhattisgarh. I was academically inclined, securing the 163rd rank in IIT JEE, but my aspiration was always to become an actress. Hence, I moved to Mumbai in 2011. I struggled for a year without any work, auditioning at various places without success."
During this time, she met a man who claimed to be a director at Balaji Telefilms. Desperate for work to support her family, she agreed to meet him at his home. He persuaded her that to succeed in the film industry, she needed to shed her inhibitions and be more open.
He then suggested that she practice acting by drinking alcohol, claiming it was essential for certain scenes. Despite her reluctance, she eventually consumed alcohol, which led to her becoming heavily intoxicated. Taking advantage of her state, he assaulted her.
After the incident, Gehana struggled to regain her composure. "I was disoriented and somehow managed to leave his place. With the help of a few people, I returned home, but my condition was so severe that I spent a week in the hospital. After recovering, I resumed my search for work, but when opportunities were scarce, I turned to B-grade films."
It's worth noting that in 2021, Gehana faced allegations related to producing adult content for Raj Kundra's company, leading to her arrest. After spending some time in jail, she was released on bail, asserting that she only created erotic content and was unaware of the broader activities within Kundra's company.
