Bollywood Actress Gehana Vasisth Reveals Shocking Assault by Director
Gehana Vasisth's Harrowing Experience
Navigating the Bollywood film industry can be incredibly challenging, with many aspiring actors and actresses arriving in Mumbai with dreams of stardom. However, the journey often involves facing harsh realities, including the pressure to compromise or endure exploitation.
One such actress, Gehana Vasisth, recently shared her traumatic experience in an interview, revealing that she was raped by a director when she was new to the industry. Here’s her story.
Assault Under the Influence
In a candid interview last year, Gehana recounted her background, stating, "I hail from a small village in Chhattisgarh and was academically inclined, achieving a rank of 163 in IIT JEE. However, my dream was always to become an actress, which led me to Mumbai in 2011. I struggled for a year without any work, attending numerous auditions without success. One day, I met a man who claimed to be a director at Balaji Telefilms. Desperate for work to support my family, I was drawn to his offer.
He invited me to his home, where he suggested that to succeed in the film industry, I needed to shed my inhibitions and be more open. He then posed a scenario where I would need to act as if I were drinking alcohol in a scene, insisting that I demonstrate by consuming the liquor on the table. Despite my reluctance, I eventually gave in, and after drinking, I became heavily intoxicated. Taking advantage of my state, he assaulted me.
Recovery and Aftermath
I was unconscious during the incident, and when I regained my senses, I managed to stumble out of there with great difficulty. In a terrible condition, I sought help from passersby to return home, but I ended up hospitalized for a week due to my injuries. After recovering, I resumed my search for work, but when opportunities were scarce, I turned to B-grade films.
It's worth noting that in 2021, Gehana faced allegations related to producing adult content for Raj Kundra's company, leading to her arrest. After spending some time in jail, she was released on bail, asserting that her work was solely focused on erotic content, and she had no knowledge of the broader activities within Kundra's company.
