Discovery of the Body

In Churachandpur district of Manipur, the body of a 37-year-old man from Assam was discovered over two weeks after he went missing.

Authorities reported on Wednesday that the remains of Dugdha Hazarika, a laborer working under 'Bharat Infra Private Limited' (BIPL) for the construction of NH-102, were located on Tuesday afternoon in a forest situated approximately 17 kilometers from the Singngat police station, between the villages of Suahjahau and Jabelei.

According to officials, local residents alerted the police about a body found in the woods, prompting the deployment of a search team comprising both police and community members. The body has since been transported to the mortuary of Churachandpur District Hospital. The police have stated that an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
