Blackout Imposed in Northern India Amid Drone Threats from Pakistan

Blackout Enforced in Multiple Cities
A widespread blackout was implemented across various cities in Northern India following reports of Pakistani drones allegedly attempting to target the Jammu airport.
Residents in Jammu shared on social media that they heard explosions during this tense situation.
Areas affected by the blackout included Jammu, Samba, Baramulla, and Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Amritsar, Jalandhar in Punjab, and Bikaner in Rajasthan.
Reports indicated that two explosions and sirens were audible in Jammu city.
This incident occurred shortly after the Indian military conducted strikes on what it described as terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, in retaliation for a recent terror attack in Pahalgam. The operation, named Operation Sindoor, targeted nine locations.
In response, the Pakistan Army retaliated by shelling Indian villages along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of sixteen individuals, as reported by the Ministry of Defence.
On Thursday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri stated that Indian forces successfully thwarted attempts by Pakistan to deploy drones and missiles against military installations in 15 locations on Wednesday night.
Earlier, the Pakistani Army claimed to have downed 25 Indian drones that had entered its airspace since Wednesday night, with reports indicating that these drones targeted cities including Karachi and Lahore.
Pakistan reported one civilian fatality and four soldiers injured due to the drone strikes.
At least 26 individuals were reported dead in Pakistan as a result of India's military strikes on Wednesday, with Islamabad asserting that the operation resulted in civilian casualties and constituted a breach of its sovereignty.
The terror attack in the Baisaran area near Pahalgam on April 22 resulted in 26 deaths and 17 injuries, with attackers reportedly identifying victims by their names to determine their religion. Most of those killed were Hindu.
