BJP's Commitment to Unity in BMC Elections

On Monday, Poonam Mahajan, a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), announced that the 'Mahayuti' alliance will contest the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections together, reinforcing the party's dedication to public service amidst political speculations. In a conversation with a news outlet, Mahajan stated, 'I cannot respond to those speculations right now. What matters to us is that the 'Mahayuti' fights together.'


 


BJP's Strategy for the Elections


Mahajan elaborated on their approach, saying, 'You will find out how we will fight, but whatever the BJP decides, we will follow as workers... The BJP does not just fight elections; we are always working for the people.' In March, Uddhav Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena (UBT), expressed a desire to reconcile with his cousin Raj Thackeray, the head of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), for the sake of Marathi language and culture. This statement was made during an event organized by the party's trade union wing, the Bharatiya Kamgar Sena.


 


Uddhav Thackeray's Remarks on Unity


While addressing the gathering in Mumbai, Uddhav Thackeray mentioned that he is willing to set aside all issues to reunite with Raj Thackeray for the benefit of Marathi culture. His comments came during a podcast with filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, where Raj Thackeray indicated that they could work together for the interests of Maharashtra, putting aside minor differences.
