BJP's Outreach Campaign in Sarupathar

Sarupathar, March 7: The Jana Ashirwad Yatra organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received an enthusiastic reception in the Sarupathar constituency on Saturday. Thousands of supporters gathered along the streets to greet Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and other prominent party figures during the sixth day of this statewide campaign leading up to the Assam Legislative Assembly elections.

The yatra commenced at the historic Duwarani Shiva Temple in Barpathar, where the Chief Minister offered prayers and sought blessings from the local populace before embarking on the journey. Dr. Sarma arrived at the temple via a temporary helipad established in the vicinity.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also prayed at the traditional idols of Brahma and Vishnu in Dhanasiri, briefly addressing the crowd to request their blessings and support for the Jana Ashirwad Yatra.

As the yatra progressed through Barpathar town towards Gelabil Chariali, residents welcomed the procession with showers of flowers.

Numerous supporters, party members, and local citizens gathered along the route, expressing appreciation for the development initiatives implemented by the state government and demonstrating their backing for the BJP's campaign.

The ceremonial procession began with prayers near the statue located in the Bakari area of the historic Shiva temple in Barpathar before moving through significant locations in the constituency.

Accompanying the Chief Minister were senior BJP leaders, including State President Dilip Saikia, Finance Minister Ajanta Neog, Kaziranga MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, and Sarupathar MLA Biswajit Phukan, along with party workers and supporters.

In his address, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the Jana Ashirwad Yatra, which commenced on February 28, aims to seek the blessings of the people of Assam ahead of the forthcoming elections.

“Since February 28, the BJP has been traversing Assam through the Jana Ashirwad Yatra to garner the people's blessings. Today marks the sixth day of this journey, and from Sarupathar, we will carry the people's blessings as we head towards Dergaon,” he remarked.

Emphasizing the development achieved during the BJP's governance, Sarma noted that the past five years have seen substantial progress throughout the state, particularly in Sarupathar.

“In the last five years, the BJP government has expedited development across Assam. We have all witnessed the transformation in Sarupathar during this time. However, I firmly believe that if the people grant us another five-year mandate, we can accomplish four times more than what has been achieved thus far,” he asserted.

He further stated that the BJP government aspires to lead Assam towards a future characterized by safety, prosperity, and comprehensive development.

“I seek your blessings so that we can once again establish the BJP government in Assam and guide the state towards new avenues of development,” the Chief Minister concluded.

State BJP president Dilip Saikia also spoke to the crowd, highlighting that the large turnout demonstrated the strong support and affection the people have for the Chief Minister.

“The love, trust, and respect that the people of Assam have shown towards the Chief Minister is remarkable. The response we have received here in Sarupathar reflects the confidence people have in his leadership,” Saikia stated.

The impressive turnout at the rally has bolstered the party's confidence as it gears up for the upcoming Assembly elections.

The Jana Ashirwad Yatra, being conducted across various constituencies in the state, aims to strengthen the party's connection with voters.
