BJP's Annamalai Critiques Rahul Gandhi's Campaign Absence in Coimbatore
Annamalai's Criticism of Rahul Gandhi
K. Annamalai, a member of the national executive of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for not participating in the election campaign in Coimbatore despite arriving at the airport. He attributed this absence to a lack of unity within the India alliance. Annamalai also pointed out that during Rahul Gandhi's recent speech in Puducherry, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was not present, indicating that the two leaders did not meet there.
Election Strategies Discussed
While addressing the media regarding the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Annamalai outlined the campaign strategies. The former state president of the BJP mentioned that he had discussions with national leaders about election-related strategies, emphasizing that these talks primarily focused on campaign planning and public outreach efforts. He also advocated for greater representation of women in Parliament, stressing that one-third of the seats should be reserved for them.
Comments on Rajinikanth and Vijay's Campaign
Regarding recent comments made by actor Rajinikanth, Annamalai stated that he was unaware of the context but praised Rajinikanth as a remarkable actor with high moral character. He also mentioned that actor Vijay's campaign should be allowed, and additional police security should be provided. Annamalai raised concerns about the Karur issue, suggesting that security measures need to be strengthened before granting permission.
Clarification on Nomination Papers
Expressing skepticism about the scrutiny of nomination papers, Annamalai advised journalists to visit Aravakurichi for clarity and offered to arrange passes for them. He also criticized a news agency during the discussion, asserting that he has brought integrity into politics.
