BJP's Outreach Initiative in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up to engage with one crore families across Odisha to showcase the advantages of the 'double-engine' government, as stated by a party official on Monday.

On the same day, the Odisha BJP convened a significant meeting to kick off celebrations marking both the 11th anniversary of the Narendra Modi-led government at the national level and the first year of the Mohan Charan Majhi administration in the state.

The party has scheduled a public outreach campaign to begin on June 9, just ahead of the first anniversary of the BJP's governance in Odisha on June 12.

According to Samir Mohanty, the former state president and chief of the anniversary program, the initiative aims to reach out to approximately one crore families, informing them about the BJP's initiatives, effective governance, and welfare programs aimed at assisting the underprivileged.

The state government is also set to organize various events throughout Odisha from June 11 to June 13, focusing on its welfare initiatives.

The high-level meeting took place at the BJP's state headquarters and was attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, state president Manmohan Samal, state in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar, co-in-charge Lata Usendi, and other key party figures.

Mohanty mentioned that activities are planned at multiple levels, from local booths to district and state levels, where central leaders will hold press conferences to raise awareness about the 'double-engine' government.

The term 'double engine' signifies the BJP's governance at both the national and state levels.

Additionally, the outreach will address the 'poor governance' attributed to the Congress and BJD, as highlighted by Mohanty.

BJP spokesperson Surath Biswal asserted that the party had made 21 commitments to the people of Odisha prior to the elections, with 11 already fulfilled.

He expressed confidence that the remaining promises would be completed well before the current BJP government's term concludes in the state.

Biswal emphasized that the outreach will inform residents in both rural and urban areas about the BJP's key women empowerment initiatives, such as Subhadra, financial aid for farmers, and the expansion of the Ayushman Yojana, among others, while also showcasing the benefits of a 'double-engine' government.

Another BJP leader noted that party workers will promote the narrative of national security under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

The party intends to leverage the anniversary celebrations to reinforce its grassroots connections.
