In Dharamshala, Sanjay Sharma, the spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Himachal Pradesh, expressed sincere appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the advance release of ₹193.95 crore from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
Sharma noted that the central government has once again shown its dedication and empathy towards the residents of Himachal during this difficult monsoon period. He highlighted that the Modi administration is steadfast in its support for the state during crises, providing timely assistance for relief and rescue efforts. This funding marks the second installment of the central allocation for the financial year 2026–27, released ahead of schedule to enhance disaster response.
Emphasizing the Prime Minister's unique connection with Himachal, Sharma remarked that these funds will be vital for relief operations, aiding in the rehabilitation of affected families and the repair of damaged infrastructure.
He called on the state government to manage the funds with utmost transparency and fairness, ensuring that aid is delivered effectively to those in need without any political influence. Sharma stressed the importance of prompt action in relief efforts to guarantee that families impacted by the disaster receive the necessary support without delay.
