In a significant electoral outcome, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has achieved a commanding victory in the Dharamshala Municipal Corporation elections, securing 11 out of 17 available seats. The Congress party was only able to claim 5 seats, while an Independent candidate took 1 seat.


Local MLA Sudhir Sharma praised the election results, interpreting them as a decisive rejection of the Congress government led by Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, which he described as having implemented “anti-people policies.” He also viewed the results as a strong affirmation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development initiatives and welfare programs.


Sharma highlighted that the residents of Dharamshala have cast their votes in favor of development, effective governance, and public welfare, reinforcing their confidence in the BJP's leadership.
