Upcoming BJP National President Election

Following January 15, state presidents of the BJP from across the country are expected to gather in Delhi for the election of the party's national president. Sources indicate that the election process is anticipated to conclude between January 18 and 20. An announcement regarding Nitin Nabin's appointment as the new national president is likely to be made by January 20.

Organizational elections have already been completed in more than half of the states governed by the BJP, with internal elections successfully conducted in 29 out of 37 states.

Support for Nitin Nabin's Candidacy

State presidents from these regions will submit a set of nomination papers endorsing Nitin Nabin's candidacy. A second set of nomination papers will be filed by members of the BJP's national council. Reports suggest that the nomination papers supporting Nabin will also bear the signatures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. As Nitin Nabin is the only candidate expected to file nomination papers, an official announcement of his election as national president will be made soon after the verification of the papers by the party's chief election officer, K. Lakshman.

Instructions for Attendance and Tenure

All chief ministers and state presidents from BJP-ruled states have been instructed to be present in Delhi for this event. Additionally, sources have revealed that Nitin Nabin's term as national president will span from January 2026 to January 2029. Given that the Lok Sabha elections are scheduled for 2029, his term may be extended beyond that year. The decision to appoint the 45-year-old Nitin Nabin as national president reflects the party's commitment to promoting youthful leadership.
