BJP's Upcoming Presidential Election Details

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has revealed plans to announce its new national president on January 20. According to the schedule released, nominations for the position will be accepted on January 19. As per the organizational election program issued by BJP's national representative K. Lakshman, candidates can submit their nomination papers between 2 PM and 4 PM on January 19, with the option to withdraw their nominations from 5 PM to 6 PM on the same day.


 


As stated in the notification from Rajya Sabha MP Lakshman, the verification of nomination papers will take place on January 19 from 4 PM to 5 PM. He mentioned that voting will occur on January 20, if necessary, and the official announcement of the newly elected national president will also be made that day. The entire voting process will be conducted at the party headquarters. Sources within the party suggest that Nitin Nabin, the current national executive president, is likely to be elected unopposed, as no other party leader is expected to contest.


 


It is anticipated that Nabin will succeed JP Nadda as the party president, with support from top leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. The prepared electoral roll for the BJP presidential election includes over 5,708 voters, compiled from 30 states where the organizational election process has been completed. This list features names from both the national and state councils. The national council parliamentary party comprises 35 members, including prominent leaders like Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Shah, JP Nadda, and Rajnath Singh.
