Shimla: The spokesperson for the BJP in Himachal Pradesh, Sanjay Sharma, has expressed serious apprehensions regarding a recent statement made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling it as a significant threat to national security.

During a press briefing on 12 October at the Congress headquarters in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi asserted that more than 200 officials from various central agencies, including the CBI, ED, and MEA, were supplying him with confidential government information.
Sharma characterized this assertion as 'shocking and alarming,' emphasizing that if such sensitive information is being leaked to political figures, it poses a direct risk to the nation's security, sovereignty, and confidentiality. He called for Rahul Gandhi to be interrogated immediately to disclose the identities of these officials and the specifics of the leaked information.
Citing Supreme Court Precedent
Violation of Supreme Court Order (2013): Sharma referenced a ruling from 8 May 2013 by Justice R.M. Lodha, which explicitly forbade any external interference in the operations of agencies like the CBI, including from the Prime Minister’s Office or ministries. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi’s statements represent a blatant violation of this landmark ruling.
