BJP Punjab Chief Discusses 2027 Election Strategy and Organizational Strengthening
Strategic Meeting for Future Elections
Chandigarh, August 9 - The head of the Bharatiya Janata Party's Punjab unit, Kaul Singh Dhillon, announced on Sunday that he met with the party's national president, Nitin Naveen, in Delhi to discuss strategies for the upcoming 2027 assembly elections and to enhance the party's organizational structure in the state. Dhillon emphasized that the meeting focused on critical issues such as agriculture, youth, border security, and urban development, laying out a concrete roadmap for the party's future.
According to sources, dissatisfaction has arisen within the state BJP following recent organizational changes, prompting the state president and the state secretary (organization), Minister Srinivasulu, to be summoned on Saturday.
The organizational reshuffle has led to discontent among certain factions of leaders, who have accused the state leadership of sidelining veteran cadres. This meeting between the state president and the national president comes at a time when Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
Badal's meeting with Modi has sparked speculation about the regional party potentially re-aligning with the BJP. Dhillon stated that a significant meeting took place in Delhi with Naveen and BJP leader Satish Poonia to strengthen the party's organization in Punjab and strategize for the 2027 assembly elections. He mentioned that robust teams would be formed at the district, block, and village levels to ensure favorable outcomes in the upcoming elections.
As per the party's statement, the Punjab unit has intensified its outreach campaign to address serious issues such as drug abuse, unemployment, law and order, and agricultural crises. The statement highlighted that the party is consistently organizing outreach programs at both village and city levels to ensure that the benefits of the central government's welfare schemes reach every family in Punjab. Criticizing the Aam Aadmi Party government, Dhillon pointed out that Punjab is grappling with issues like drug addiction, deteriorating law and order, and youth migration abroad, yet the ruling party lacks concrete solutions to these problems.
He reaffirmed the BJP's commitment to making Punjab a safe, prosperous, and progressive state once again. The state president also mentioned that as part of the nationwide Samarasata Sankalp campaign celebrating the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas, a sacred soil procession is being organized in Punjab's villages, particularly in the Doaba region, which has a significant Dalit population.
