BJP's Commitment to Address Violence Post-Election

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari assured on Wednesday that following the party's remarkable victory in the West Bengal assembly elections, which ended Mamata Banerjee's 15-year rule, necessary actions will be taken against goons.

Speaking to reporters, Adhikari highlighted the mistreatment of BJP workers by the previous government, which included filing false FIRs against them. He stated, 'The people here have elected me as an MP twice and as an MLA three times. I defeated the Chief Minister last time, and I have come here to seek blessings from Bajrangbali. Our workers have worked tirelessly; over 500 false FIRs were filed against them, and 400 BJP workers were imprisoned.'

Suvendu emphasized that the BJP government will take every possible measure against goons and corrupt individuals. He mentioned that there will be no victory procession in the next 2-3 days; instead, after the government is formed, a thank-you ceremony will be organized with police permission.

Amit Shah's Upcoming Visit to West Bengal

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit West Bengal on Thursday evening as part of ongoing political events following the party's historic victory. According to top sources within the BJP, Shah will first attend the swearing-in ceremony for the cabinet expansion in Bihar before heading directly to West Bengal. This visit is considered significant as it occurs during a delicate time when the party is actively discussing post-election strategies and government formation.

Upon arriving in West Bengal, the Home Minister will chair an important meeting with senior party leaders and core committee members. This meeting will focus on assessing the current political situation, reviewing organizational preparations, and unifying leadership on future steps.

Strategic Discussions Ahead of Legislative Meeting

Sources indicate that before the BJP legislative party meeting scheduled for the 8th, Shah will engage in detailed discussions with party leaders regarding the upcoming swearing-in ceremony. The discussions are expected to cover the framework of the new cabinet, including its structure, key portfolios, and overall governance priorities.

BJP's Historic Performance in West Bengal Elections

The BJP has made history in the West Bengal assembly election results, poised to form its first government in the state. The party-led NDA has also secured a third consecutive victory in Assam. In West Bengal, the BJP won 206 out of 294 seats, a significant improvement from the 77 seats it secured in the 2021 assembly elections. The Trinamool Congress, which had a remarkable victory in the last assembly elections with 212 seats, has come in second this time with 80 seats.
