BJP's Call to Voters in Assam
The National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nitin Naveen, appealed to voters on Friday to consider the previous tenure of Congress while casting their votes in the Assam Assembly elections. Speaking at an election rally in Kamalpur in support of BJP candidate Diganta Kalita, Naveen accused Congress of acting in favor of infiltrators. He stated that the Congress government had allowed infiltration for the sake of vote bank politics, leaving women and land vulnerable during its tenure. In contrast, he emphasized that the last decade has been a period of development for Assam, urging voters to remember this when they head to the polls.

Nitin Naveen expressed confidence that the NDA, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, would return to power for a third consecutive term. He reiterated that the Congress government had opened doors for infiltrators in pursuit of vote bank politics, compromising the safety of women and land. He claimed that the elected BJP government has effectively kept infiltrators at bay and initiated systematic development projects. Naveen highlighted that the past ten years have been marked by progress in Assam, urging voters to keep this in mind as they prepare to vote.

The BJP President expressed optimism that under Sarma's leadership, the party would achieve a hat-trick in the elections. Naveen mentioned that he has been visiting Assam for various party activities since 2009-2010 and has toured many regions of the state. He reflected on a time when development was not a topic of discussion, and traveling from one place to another was stressful, with people only talking about violence and protests.
