Following the Lok Sabha's approval of the 'Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026', BJP MP Raghav Chadha addressed the recent NEET protests that shook the capital. During the discussion on the bill, Chadha expressed, "I have the right to state this with complete confidence and honesty: when it comes to our students and the youth of India, the government listened, acted, and delivered results."
This statement came as hundreds of students across India protested against the NEET paper leak, demanding the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who eventually stepped down amid rising pressure. In his speech in Parliament, Chadha emphasized the need for a permanent solution to the paper leak issue. He noted that 2.2 million students dedicate 18 hours daily for a 3-hour exam, only for their efforts to be undermined by a camera phone, a WhatsApp message, or a PDF leak on Telegram—rendering their hard work futile.
Chadha asserted that serious issues like paper leaks require lasting solutions. Just as cancer cannot be treated with mere painkillers, the paper leak problem cannot be resolved through media statements but must be addressed with institutional solutions. He highlighted that through this bill, the government aims to establish India's first anti-paper leak framework. Chadha emphasized, "First and foremost, I want to address the NEET students. Your anger is justified. Your pain is real, and your grievances regarding the examination system are valid."
He further stated that when you expressed your concerns, shared your pain, and presented your demands, the Prime Minister listened not just as a leader but as a parent and head of a family. The students made their demands, the government took action, historic decisions were made, and systems were changed. Reflecting on the steps taken by the government following the protests, Chadha reiterated that when it came to our students and the youth of India, the government listened, acted, and produced results.
