BJP's Strong Response to Congress Statements
BJP MP Brij Lal condemned the comments made by former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan regarding Operation Sindoor on Wednesday. He accused the Congress party of consistently supporting Pakistan and disrespecting the nation. Lal further claimed that Congress has a history of humiliating India, and he criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for allegedly disparaging the country during his foreign trips.
Lal expressed his disapproval in a statement, asserting, "I strongly condemn this statement. The Congress party has always been pro-Pakistan and has continuously brought shame to our nation. Whenever their leader Rahul Gandhi travels abroad, he insults India... The entire country is watching, and the public will teach Congress a lesson." Additionally, BJP national spokesperson C.R. Keshavan also criticized Chavan's remarks, which suggested that India faced defeat on the first day of the operation and that Indian aircraft were shot down during the four-day conflict.
In response to these comments, Keshavan likened Chavan's statements to those of a lowly Pakistani spokesperson. He called for action against Chavan and demanded an apology for his remarks. Keshavan stated, "Prithviraj Chavan has spoken nonsense like a cheap Pakistani spokesperson, deliberately defaming our armed forces and suggesting a disruption on Victory Day... Why haven’t Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi condemned Chavan or taken action against him? Do they agree with his absurd statement?... The Congress mindset is anti-army... The Supreme Court had reprimanded Rahul Gandhi for his comments against the army... The public will neither forget nor forgive Chavan's statement, and action should be initiated against him, along with a demand for an apology."
Earlier, Prithviraj Chavan had claimed that India suffered a defeat on the very first day of Operation Sindoor, stating that Indian aircraft were shot down during a half-hour aerial conflict on the 7th. He remarked, "We faced a complete defeat on the first day of Operation Sindoor. Whether people believe it or not, we were entirely defeated in the aerial engagement. Indian aircraft were shot down, and the Air Force was completely grounded. If any aircraft had taken off from Gwalior, Bhatinda, or Sirsa, there was a strong possibility of it being shot down by Pakistan, which is why the Air Force was entirely immobilized."
