As the wedding festivities filled the air with music and laughter, a woman approached the MLA with a health concern. Despite being in ceremonial attire and lacking medical tools, Dr. Janak Raj utilized his mobile phone's flashlight to check her pulse and assessed a child's heartbeat by placing his ear against her back.

What began as one patient quickly turned into many, leading to an unexpected OPD session amidst the celebrations, with locals lining up for medical help while the band played on.

Dr. Janak Raj is not your average legislator; he is a gold medalist in neurosurgery from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi and holds an MS in general surgery.
