The Atal Smriti Sammelan took place today at the Lions Club in Dharamshala, showcasing the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) commitment to its ideology and organizational strength. Party leaders and members gathered to honor the legacy of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna recipient Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
The event featured heartfelt reflections on Vajpayee’s vision for nation-building, governance, and democratic principles. Former Speaker and MLA Vipin Singh Parmar, along with former Minister and MLA Sudhir Sharma, addressed a large audience of BJP supporters, emphasizing Vajpayee’s lasting impact on Indian politics.
Parmar characterized Vajpayee not just as a Prime Minister but as “an ideology” that intertwined politics with dignity, dialogue, and development. He encouraged party members to spread Vajpayee’s principles among the public, which he deemed the most fitting homage to his legacy.
Sharma highlighted Vajpayee’s steadfast commitment to national interests, even in difficult times. He remarked that in a world often swayed by opportunism, Vajpayee’s life stands as a beacon of integrity and patriotism. He declared that the BJP is the rightful heir to Vajpayee’s ideological legacy.
District Kangra BJP President Sachin Sharma noted that the Sammelan has revitalized the organization. He expressed gratitude to party leaders and members for their involvement, emphasizing that Vajpayee’s thoughts continue to guide the BJP’s future.
The gathering was attended by numerous senior leaders and officials, including State BJP spokesperson Rakesh Sharma, State BJP media co-incharge Advocate Vishwachakshu, District BJP General Secretary Devendra Kohli, Dharamshala BJP Mandal President Dr. Vishal Nehria, former MLA Vishal Nehria, Deputy Mayor Tejinder Kaur, among others.
The phrase “Atal hai to vishwas hai” (“Where there is Atal, there is trust”) echoed throughout the event, symbolizing the profound respect and confidence the party continues to hold in Vajpayee’s legacy.
