BJP's Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Kicks Off

In Mandi district, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to initiate a month-long campaign named ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17. This initiative commemorates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service, encompassing his tenures as both Chief Minister and Prime Minister. The party aims to implement various service and outreach programs throughout the district.

During a district-level workshop held prior to the campaign, Jai Ram Thakur, the former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and current Leader of Opposition, emphasized that Modi’s extensive public service journey symbolizes a dedication to nation-building, effective governance, and public welfare.

Thakur urged that the campaign should extend beyond mere party activities, evolving into a comprehensive public outreach and service initiative. He encouraged BJP members to connect with every booth and engage with diverse community groups, showcasing the significant initiatives and accomplishments of the Modi administration.

Highlighting the strength of the BJP, Thakur stated, “The party's power lies in its workers,” and called on them to communicate Modi’s 25 years of service to the grassroots level, ensuring visibility at booth, mandal, and assembly constituency levels.

He pointed out that programs like Jan Dhan, Ujjwala, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas, Swachh Bharat, and Digital India have aimed to prioritize the needs of the poor, farmers, women, youth, and economically disadvantaged groups within the government’s policy framework.

Thakur also noted the advancements in road, rail, and air connectivity, along with other infrastructure developments under Modi’s leadership, which he believes reflect the evolving economic and physical landscape of India.

He connected the campaign to the BJP’s broader political vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’, asserting that the ambition of transforming India into a developed nation by 2047 should become a collective movement.

Focus on Community Service Activities

Suresh Bhardwaj, the BJP district in-charge and former minister, mentioned that the campaign will feature a variety of programs aimed at merging public outreach with community service.

Bhardwaj outlined several planned activities for the month, including ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’, ‘25 Crore Bachchon Ke Sapnon Ka Bharat’, ‘Namo Shiv Gatha’, ‘Aangan Ka Utsav’, ‘Kahani Badlav Ki’, ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’, and ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’.

As part of the ‘Seva—Mera Yogdan’ initiative, BJP members will organize blood donation drives, health camps, cleanliness campaigns, and tree planting activities, in addition to providing services at old-age homes and orphanages. Educational support and de-addiction programs will also be integral to the campaign.

The workshop was led by Nihal Chand Sharma, the BJP Mandi district president.

Attendees included Balh MLA Inder Singh Gandhi, Drang MLA Puran Thakur, district co-in-charge Bhim Sen, state spokespersons Ajay Rana and Ajay Thakur, state secretary Priyanta, media in-charge Rakesh, along with mandal presidents and other party officials.
