In a notable political event, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) celebrated a significant milestone in Palampur as 129 families officially joined the party, marking a pivotal change in the local political landscape. This event coincided with the birthday of Dr. Rajeev Bindal, the BJP State President, who received this show of mass support as a symbolic gift.
Among the new members, 101 families previously aligned with Congress and 28 retired employees expressed their dissatisfaction with the Congress party's policies. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as party workers distributed sweets to commemorate the occasion.
Trilok Kapoor, a senior BJP leader, played a crucial role in rallying support, with his strong connection to the grassroots and dedication to public service being widely recognized. During his address, Kapoor criticized the Congress government, accusing it of deceiving the public with empty promises and leading the state into financial turmoil.
He claimed that the politics of Congress was founded on 'lies, deception, and false promises,' contrasting it with the BJP's commitment to 'service, good governance, and development.'
Despite the BJP's loss in the previous election, Kapoor reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Palampur, stating that he stands with them through their challenges and triumphs. He attributed the growing trust in BJP's policies to their efforts in improving roads, healthcare, education, employment, and essential infrastructure.
Welcoming the new members, Kapoor emphasized that the BJP is more than just a political entity; it is a family and an ideology that respects every worker. He expressed optimism that the new members would help spread the BJP's vision of nationalism and development throughout Palampur.
The event saw a large turnout, with notable leaders such as Vinay Sharma, Gopesh Sharma, Rajesh Ranu, Suresh Pathania, Vijay Bhatt, Surender Thakur, Harish Walia, Ashok Rana, Ranjana Bhatt, Gurmeet Singh, and many others in attendance.
The overwhelming support displayed at the event suggests that Congress is losing its foothold in Palampur, while the BJP, under Trilok Kapoor's leadership, is gaining strength and popularity among the local populace.
