BJP Demands Apology from Congress President Over Controversial Remarks
BJP Condemns Remarks by Congress President
Dharamshala - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed strong disapproval of the controversial statements allegedly made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Advocate Vishva Chakshu, the BJP's Media Co-Incharge for Himachal Pradesh, has called for Kharge to apologize publicly to the Prime Minister, warning that legal measures could follow if he does not.
In a media briefing, Chakshu condemned the purported derogatory remarks made by Kharge about the Prime Minister’s deceased father. He emphasized that while political opposition is essential in a democracy, attacking a leader's family members who have passed away is contrary to Indian cultural values and democratic principles.
Chakshu highlighted that Prime Minister Modi has devoted his life to serving the nation and fostering its development. He criticized the Congress party for what he termed a narrow political perspective and increasing frustration, as evidenced by their offensive language directed at the Prime Minister's family.
He further asserted that political discussions should revolve around policies, ideologies, and governance, rather than resorting to personal insults and inappropriate comments about family members. Chakshu urged Congress leaders to maintain dignity and responsibility in public discourse.
“While democracy allows for disagreement, it does not justify the use of insulting or derogatory language,” Chakshu stated.
The BJP leader also urged Mallikarjun Kharge to clarify his alleged comments and, if they were indeed offensive, to issue a public apology to the citizens of the country.
