BJP Criticizes Rahul Gandhi's Germany Trip Amid Parliament Session: What’s the Controversy?
BJP's Strong Reactions to Rahul Gandhi's Foreign Visit
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sharply criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, for his recent trip to Germany during the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament. The party accused him of 'defaming India' and associating with 'anti-India forces' while abroad.
During a press briefing at the BJP headquarters, national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia expressed concern over Gandhi's actions, stating, 'It is alarming that the Leader of the Opposition is traveling abroad to tarnish India's image and engage with those who oppose our nation.'
Bhatia emphasized that it is crucial for the Leader of the Opposition to be present in Parliament during its sessions, questioning Gandhi's decision to travel to Germany instead.
He pointed out that Gandhi visited the Hertie School in Germany and met with Dr. Cornelia Woll, a trustee of the Central European University (CEU), which the BJP claims has connections to anti-India sentiments.
Displaying a political meme that combines the faces of Rahul Gandhi and George Soros, Bhatia alleged that Gandhi has ties with the American investor and philanthropist, suggesting that their relationship is detrimental to India's interests.
'Why does Rahul Gandhi choose to travel abroad and meet individuals who are critical of India whenever Parliament is in session? This raises serious questions about his motives and whether he is collaborating with foreign entities against India,' Bhatia questioned.
He further accused Gandhi of having a history of involvement in activities perceived as anti-India, labeling him as 'Mir Jafar' of the nation.
Bhatia remarked, 'While George Soros makes statements against India and funds unrest, Rahul Gandhi, who has sworn to uphold the Constitution, is now being viewed as a traitor by the public.'
He concluded by asserting that Gandhi's actions reflect a pattern of behavior that undermines India's integrity, calling it a serious concern for the nation.
Rahul Gandhi's five-day trip to Germany, which began on December 15, has sparked significant backlash from the BJP, particularly due to its timing during the Parliament's Winter Session.
