BJP Criticizes INDI Alliance as Fragmented Amid Internal Conflicts

BJP's Allegations Against INDI Alliance

On Monday, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala accused the INDI alliance of being riddled with internal strife, labeling it a "fragmented" coalition lacking any clear mission or vision. His remarks followed the sharing of comparative data on state debts by Praveen Chakravarty, a close aide of Rahul Gandhi, on X (formerly Twitter), which contrasted the debts of Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. In a conversation with a news media outlet, Poonawala pointed out that Chakravarty's support for Yogi Adityanath's model over that of Stalin reflects Rahul Gandhi's stance.

Poonawala emphasized that the INDI alliance exists merely on paper across various states, including Delhi, Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

He noted that new conflicts within the INDI alliance emerge daily, describing it as a coalition without a mission or vision, merely existing in confusion. He referenced the recent sighting of Kerala's Chief Minister battling against Congress, while today, Congress has launched an attack on DMK, indicating their support for Yogi's model while dismissing Stalin's. This, he argued, signifies that Rahul Gandhi has implicitly endorsed this view.

Criticizing Congress's approach to the alliance's dynamics, Poonawala stated that the party is unable to accept reality, perceiving itself as the dominant player everywhere. However, he claimed that no one takes Rahul Gandhi seriously anymore, leading to a situation akin to a breakup. On Sunday, Chakravarty shared graphical data on X, highlighting that Tamil Nadu has the highest outstanding debt among all states.

In 2010, Uttar Pradesh's debt was more than double that of Tamil Nadu. Currently, Tamil Nadu's debt exceeds that of Uttar Pradesh. The interest burden in Tamil Nadu ranks third after public and human resources. The state's debt-to-GDP ratio remains significantly higher than pre-COVID levels, raising concerns about Tamil Nadu's financial situation.
