BJP Criticizes Congress Government in Himachal Pradesh for Economic Mismanagement

BJP's Strong Critique of the Current Government

Dharamshala
Advocate Vishw Chakshu, co-incharge of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state media, has launched a fierce critique against the Congress-led government of Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in Himachal Pradesh, labeling it as “the most significant disaster inflicted upon the state.”

Chakshu claimed that within a mere two and a half years, the Congress administration has driven Himachal Pradesh to the edge of economic collapse, administrative dysfunction, and decisions detrimental to the public.

Financial Support from the Central Government

₹601.92 Crore Allocated for Rehabilitation

Chakshu emphasized the assistance from the central government, noting that the Union Home Ministry has allocated ₹601.92 crore to Himachal Pradesh under the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) for the rehabilitation and compensation of families impacted by natural disasters. Previously, ₹451 crore had been disbursed under the same initiative.

He mentioned that since the beginning of 2023, the Centre has provided over ₹6,000 crore in disaster relief to the state, in addition to special packages and announcements from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Support from the Modi Administration

“Modi Government Stands Firm with Himachal”

Expressing appreciation for PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chakshu stated, “Whenever Himachal has faced challenges, the Centre has offered unwavering support, while the Congress government has been preoccupied with credit-seeking and creating confusion.”

Concerns Over Pension Delays and Youth Employment

Pension Issues and Youth Disappointment

Chakshu accused the Sukhu administration of being indifferent, highlighting instances where elderly citizens, widows, and individuals with disabilities have been left waiting for months to receive their pensions.

He further claimed that the Congress government has let down the youth by not fulfilling its promise of creating one lakh jobs. Recruitment processes are stalled, exams are frequently postponed, and many frustrated young individuals are compelled to leave the state in search of opportunities.

Regarding disaster relief, Chakshu asserted that funds intended for local bodies have “vanished,” leaving victims still awaiting compensation.

Rising Costs Affecting Citizens

Increased Living Costs

The BJP leader condemned the Congress government for hiking electricity, water, and bus fares, along with introducing new charges, stating that these actions have made life increasingly difficult for the average citizen. “This is not a model of welfare, but one of exploitation,” he remarked.

Future Political Outlook

“Public Will Reject Congress in 2027”

In closing, Chakshu remarked that while the residents of Himachal Pradesh struggle for pensions, jobs, and relief, the Congress government is squandering funds on advertisements and celebrations. He confidently asserted that the state’s aware citizens will respond decisively to the Congress in 2027, bringing an end to what he characterized as a regime of “deceit, corruption, failure, and arrogance.”
