BJP's Strong Critique of Congress
The President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan, Madan Rathore, launched a sharp critique against the Congress party on Wednesday. He condemned the recent political demonstrations by Congress, asserting that the public will not tolerate "indecent behavior." While addressing journalists in Jaipur, the BJP state president mentioned that the party initially planned a significant protest outside the local Congress headquarters. However, to avoid any confrontation with law enforcement present on the ground, they opted for a symbolic protest instead. He stated, "We intended to encircle the Congress office and teach them a lesson about proper conduct. But given the police presence, we did not want a clash. Therefore, we conducted a symbolic protest. Congress should now show wisdom and understand that the citizens of this country will not accept such disgraceful behavior at all."
Protests and Police Presence
Earlier, on Tuesday, a large number of BJP workers gathered outside the Congress headquarters in Gujarat to protest against the opposition party's demonstration near the Prime Minister's residence on Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi.
Rathore reiterated their decision to encircle the Congress office to impart a lesson on appropriate behavior. However, he emphasized that they did not wish to confront the police, leading to the choice of a symbolic protest. He urged Congress to recognize that the public will not tolerate such inappropriate conduct.
Rahul Gandhi Critiques Police Actions
On the same day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi strongly criticized the police's actions against demonstrators addressing educational issues in the national capital. He highlighted that there have been 152 incidents of paper leaks over the past decade, affecting 7.5 crore students and their families. Speaking at a press conference following a protest on Lok Kalyan Marg against police actions during the 'Chalo Parliament' march, Gandhi stated that the party fully supports the students' demands. He remarked, "It is clear to everyone that our education system, once regarded as one of the best in the world, is now in disarray... We know that there have been 152 incidents of paper leaks in the last decade. If you calculate, that’s nearly one incident every month. Every month, millions of students are told they must endure the stress they have already faced once again, only to be told that we do not care."
