Delhi Chief Minister Thanks Voters for Support

On December 3, Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed her gratitude to the residents of Delhi for the BJP's significant success in the recent Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by-elections, the results of which were announced on Wednesday.

In a post on the social media platform X, CM Gupta stated, “I extend my heartfelt thanks to the citizens of Delhi for their invaluable support to the Bharatiya Janata Party during the Delhi Municipal Corporation bye-elections.”

She emphasized that this win is a testament to the relentless efforts and dedication of the party's workers and the collective strength of the organization.

Gupta also congratulated the victorious candidates, saying, “Congratulations to all the BJP candidates who emerged victorious in the bye-elections. Our government remains dedicated to the development of Delhi and is working tirelessly.”

BJP Leaders Celebrate the Win

BJP leader Kapil Mishra took to X to celebrate the party's decisive victory in the municipal bye-elections, stating, “The BJP has achieved a remarkable victory. The corrupt and deceitful Kejriwal faction has been defeated. The Aam Aadmi Party faced a significant loss in areas like Chandni Chowk and Chandni Mahal. The residents of Greater Kailash have rejected those who disrespected Chhath Puja.”

He attributed the victory to the leadership and developmental vision of Chief Minister Gupta, as well as the efforts of state president Virendra Sachdeva and the party's workers.

Mishra remarked, “This grand victory is a result of the leadership and development policies of Chief Minister @gupta_rekha, the determination of State President @Virend_Sachdeva, and the hard work of BJP workers.”

Counting Process and Political Implications

Ten counting centers were set up at various locations including Kanjhawala, Pitampura, and Dwarka, each managing the counting for specific wards with secure strongrooms and controlled access, as stated by the State Election Commission.

Prior to the bypolls, the 250-member MCD House comprised 115 BJP members, 99 from AAP, 15 from the Indraprastha Vikas Party, and 8 from Congress. These bypolls were viewed as a crucial electoral test for the BJP following its recent Assembly election win, while the AAP and Congress saw it as a chance to bolster their standing in the national capital.
