Shimla: During a press briefing at Deep Kamal Chakkar, Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, the BJP’s Election Officer, emphasized the party's commitment to democratic principles, stating, “Our party upholds democratic traditions, ensuring that both national and state presidents are elected through a fair process nationwide.”


He noted that under the guidance of National Election Officer Lakshman, elections for various levels including booth, mandal, district, and state councils have been successfully conducted across the country. In Himachal Pradesh alone, elections have taken place in over 8,000 booths, 171 mandals, and 17 districts.


“In Himachal Pradesh, we have 114 delegates, who can also be referred to as voters for the elections of the BJP State President and National Council members. The election notification, schedule, and voter list have been made available at the BJP headquarters,” he added.


Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj further announced, “The elections for the BJP State President and eight National Council members in Himachal Pradesh have been officially declared, and the notification has been issued. Nominations will be accepted on 30 June 2025, at the BJP headquarters, Deep Kamal Chakkar, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm.”


He explained that the scrutiny of nomination papers will occur from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. If there are multiple nominations, candidates will have the opportunity to withdraw their nominations between 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm.


On 1 July, the official announcement regarding the State President and the eight National Council members will be made by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh at 11:00 am at Hotel Peterhoff, Shimla. This event will also feature co-election chair Dr. Rajiv Sahajal and Sanjeev Katwal alongside Rajiv Bhardwaj.
