On Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released its first list of candidates for the upcoming 2026 Bihar Assembly elections. The party has nominated Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh, Dr. Sanjay Mayukh, Anil Kumar Thakur, and Sheela Pandit as its representatives for the elections.

In a parallel move, the Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) also announced its candidates for the 2026 Bihar Assembly elections and the by-elections on the same day.

JD(U) Prepares for Elections

The official list of candidates was shared through a notification signed by Umesh Singh Kushwaha, the president of Bihar JD(U). This announcement marks the formal commencement of the party's preparations for the assembly elections, indicating a focus on social representation and organizational strength.

For the upcoming by-election on a vacant seat, JD(U) has placed its trust in Lalan Prasad, a resident of Sheikhpura.
