BJP's Criticism of Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, August 6 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has leveled accusations against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for neglecting parliamentary duties, claiming he is engaging in 'narrow politics' and avoiding discussions in the House. This statement follows the cancellation of Gandhi's 'Students' Voice' event, scheduled for August 8 at the KP Ground in Prayagraj, by the Kayastha Pathshala Trust. The trust cited a court order from the Allahabad High Court and flooding at the venue as reasons for the cancellation.

The Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha was set to address students regarding issues such as leaked exam papers. BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh stated that Rahul Gandhi is evading parliamentary responsibilities. He criticized Gandhi for not being prepared to engage in discussions, labeling him as 'mentally bankrupt.'

Chugh remarked to reporters in the Parliament complex, 'While the parliamentary session is ongoing, you are ignoring the country's largest democratic institution for narrow political gains. You are not willing to participate in discussions on the biggest platform for democracy, which indicates your mental bankruptcy.'

The BJP leader accused the Congress of shying away from discussions due to a lack of 'issues and arguments.' He asserted that if discussions were held, it would expose the 'lies and misleading narratives' of the Congress party. Chugh further claimed that the Congress is attempting to 'hijack' student protests for political advantage, stating that the party has no time for the students of Jharkhand.

He added, 'Students are struggling and raising issues, but the so-called intellectual leaders of the Congress party, including the less insightful Rahul Gandhi, do not spare a minute to listen to or understand their pain and suffering. This reflects the double standards of the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi.'

Chugh concluded, 'The nation is witnessing how the Congress exploits student issues for political gain. They even attempt to hijack protests by bringing in students in buses. Yet, they have no time for the students of Jharkhand, showcasing the Congress party's dual character and double standards.'
