BJP Accuses Congress and CPI(M) of Hindering Kerala's Development
Allegations Against Opposition Parties
Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala, has leveled serious accusations against the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for engaging in politics that he claims is detrimental to development and the public. He asserted that the people of Kerala are not reaping the full benefits of key development initiatives from the central government due to the actions of these two parties.
Reference to Union Minister's Comments
In a post on the social media platform Facebook, Chandrasekhar referenced earlier comments made by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. He stated that both Congress and CPI(M) are obstructing Kerala's progress. Notably, Vaishnaw had also accused the leftist parties and Congress in March of this year of hindering railway development projects in the state.
Concerns Over Travel Time Reduction Proposal
Chandrasekhar specifically mentioned a proposal to reduce travel time between Kasaragod and Thiruvananthapuram to four hours. He alleged that delays in this significant proposal from the central government are due to the state government's lack of interest in land acquisition. According to him, the state government prioritizes its political interests over development.
Impact on Infrastructure Projects
He further claimed that a similar attitude has led to obstacles in implementing essential infrastructure projects such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Ayushman Bharat, and Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM Shri). Chandrasekhar emphasized that Kerala needs genuine development and a focus on productive politics rather than artificially created controversies to achieve the goal of a developed state.
