BJD Leader Takes Action Against BJP MLA for Offensive Comments

Bhubaneswar Incident Sparks Controversy
Bhubaneswar: Lekhasri Samantsinghar, a prominent leader of the BJD, lodged a police complaint on Friday against BJP MLA Sanotsh Khatua, accusing him of making disrespectful comments towards her.
Accompanied by other senior members of the BJD, Samantsinghar went to the women's police station in Bhubaneswar to file her complaint against the MLA representing Nilgiri in Balasore district.
In her complaint, she stated, "Khatua has not only insulted me but has also disrespected every woman in Odisha and India, including all female political activists, regardless of their party. His comments are so degrading that I find it hard to even repeat them here."
Additionally, Samantsinghar reached out to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the matter and shared her concerns on social media.
Previously, Naveen Patnaik, the Leader of the Opposition from BJD, condemned the remarks made by the BJP MLA.
This marks the fourth complaint filed against Khatua since Thursday, with three earlier complaints already submitted at the Nilgiri police station.
Samantsinghar, who serves as a spokesperson for the BJD, had accused Khatua of being involved in ivory smuggling, labeling him as a "thief" and a "dacoit."
In response to these allegations, Khatua stated, "How can she call me a thief and dacoit? I merely responded to her accusations," during interviews with local television channels.
BJP spokesperson Anil Biswal criticized the BJD for targeting Khatua in connection with the death of an elephant.
