Bilawal Bhutto's UN Address Faces Tough Questions on Anti-India Claims

Pakistan's Former Foreign Minister Confronted at UN
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the former Foreign Minister of Pakistan, is currently leading a delegation aimed at engaging with the international community. However, his attempts to promote a misleading anti-India narrative were challenged during a press conference at the United Nations headquarters in New York. A journalist confronted Bhutto regarding his assertion that the recent terrorist incident in Kashmir is being exploited politically to vilify Muslims in India.
Bhutto's Response to the Journalist's Inquiry
During the press briefing, the foreign journalist pointed out that he had observed briefings from both sides and recalled that Muslim Indian military officers had conducted the briefing on Operation Sindoor, which was executed by India. Bhutto acknowledged this fact, stating, 'You are absolutely right regarding the operation.' The journalist subtly referenced Colonel Sophiya Qureshi while countering Bhutto's claims about the Indian government.
Operation Sindoor Briefing Details
It is noteworthy that the briefing for Operation Sindoor was led by two female officers, Colonel Sophiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Call for Dialogue and Cooperation
In his address, Bhutto advocated for reconciliation with India, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and intelligence sharing between the two nations. He expressed Pakistan's readiness to collaborate with India in the fight against terrorism, stating, 'We cannot leave the fate of 1.5 or 1.7 billion people in the hands of non-state actors and terrorists.' He criticized the Indian government's approach, suggesting it creates a dangerous precedent for nuclear-armed nations.
Potential for Intelligence Collaboration
Bhutto proposed that cooperation between Pakistan's ISI and India's RAW could significantly reduce terrorism in both countries. He expressed confidence that such collaboration would yield positive results.
Acknowledgment of Challenges in Raising Kashmir Issues
Additionally, Bhutto recognized that the Pakistani government's attempts to highlight the Kashmir issue on global platforms have encountered obstacles. He remarked, 'The hurdles we face within the UN regarding the Kashmir cause still exist.'
