Bijoy Varghese Joins Indian Senior Football Team
Punjab FC's defender Bijoy Varghese has received his first-ever call-up to the Indian senior football squad. Head Coach Khalid Jamil announced a 23-member team for the upcoming Asian Cup qualifier against Hong Kong, scheduled for March 31 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. The defender, who hails from Kerala, joined the team at the start of this season and made his debut during the Durand Cup 2025. Since then, he has been a key player for Coach Panagiotis Dilmperis, participating in every match of the Indian Super League and the AIFF Super Cup, as stated in a press release.
