Bijnor Wedding Chaos: Bride Refuses to Marry Over Makeup Dispute
Wedding Turns into a Battlefield
Bijnor News: A peculiar incident from the town of Nahtaur in Bijnor district, Uttar Pradesh, has sparked widespread discussion. While wedding festivities were underway at a banquet hall, the celebration turned chaotic due to the bride's unexpected refusal to proceed with the marriage. The groom, Shuaib, also known as Babbu, had arrived with his wedding party from Islam Nagar in Noorpur.
The bride and groom are cousins, and everything seemed to be going smoothly until just before the ceremony when the bride outright declined to marry. She claimed that the groom's family had failed to provide the promised makeup supplies. The bride firmly stated that she would not marry someone who neglected her basic needs.
‘Brought a New Car Worth 12 Lakhs’
Following the bride's refusal, Shuaib was left in shock. He pleaded, mentioning that he had purchased a new car worth 12 lakhs and decorated it with flowers for the occasion. However, the bride remained resolute in her decision. The atmosphere quickly shifted from joyous to tense as she insisted, 'If they can't even send me makeup supplies, I won't marry him.'
Violence Erupts, Groom's Car Damaged
The dispute escalated, leading to heated exchanges and physical confrontations between both families. Soon, stones were being thrown outside the banquet hall. Witnesses reported that bricks were hurled from both sides, resulting in damage to the groom's shiny new car, with its windows shattered during the chaos.
Police Intervenes, Wedding Party Leaves Empty-Handed
Upon receiving reports of the disturbance, local police arrived at the scene and detained several individuals involved in the fracas. Efforts by local clerics and respected community members to mediate between the two parties were unsuccessful, as the bride remained adamant about not going through with the marriage. Ultimately, the wedding party, which had come to enjoy chicken, mutton, and rasmalai, had to return home without the bride. The police stated that no formal complaint had been filed yet, but legal action would be taken once a complaint is received.
