Bihar's Political Landscape Shifts as Mukesh Sahni Advocates for Change
A Call for Change in Bihar's Governance
Mukesh Sahni, the leader of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and the Mahagathbandhan's candidate for Deputy Chief Minister, expressed on Tuesday that a strong wave of change is sweeping through Bihar. He emphasized that the public has become disillusioned with the government led by Nitish Kumar and is now rallying behind Tejashwi Yadav, whom they associate with job opportunities. Sahni noted that the Mahagathbandhan's campaign is receiving enthusiastic support from all sections of society, with the slogan 'Tejashwi means government jobs' resonating strongly among the youth.
Growing Enthusiasm for Change
Speaking to reporters in Patna, Sahni remarked that the campaign is progressing well, with excitement about changing the government evident across communities. He stated, 'Everyone is convinced that Tejashwi means government jobs.' Many citizens are fed up with the past two decades of governance. Criticizing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Sahni accused the state administration of being controlled by bureaucrats and 'remote control from Delhi.' He asserted, 'Nitish Kumar is unwell and not making decisions; bureaucrats are making them. The government is being run from Delhi, which is why people are seeking change.'
Response to Controversial Remarks
In response to comments made by Union Minister Giriraj Singh regarding Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Sahni stated that such remarks are an insult to the Nishad community. He added, 'Their mindset is flawed. Rahul Gandhi stood with the Nishad community, understood them, and even went fishing with them. Commenting on that is an affront to Bihar's Nishad community. Giriraj Singh and the NDA have consistently insulted the Nishad community and should apologize.' Addressing Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sahni remarked that while the Prime Minister has many responsibilities, he remains preoccupied with electoral politics.
Promises for Farmers and Women
Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Mahagathbandhan's candidate for Chief Minister, announced several promises for farmers, women, and government employees upon the coalition's return to power in Bihar. Speaking to a news outlet, Yadav stated that farmers would receive an additional ₹300 per quintal for rice and ₹400 per quintal for wheat, in addition to the existing minimum support price (MSP). He also promised free electricity for irrigation if the Mahagathbandhan forms the government in Bihar. Yadav declared, 'We will provide farmers with ₹300 for rice and ₹400 for wheat over and above the MSP, along with free electricity for irrigation.'
