Bihar Schools to Incorporate National Song 'Vande Mataram' in Morning Assemblies
Implementation of New Guidelines in Bihar Schools
In accordance with directives from the central government, all government schools in Bihar will now include the national song 'Vande Mataram' during their morning assemblies. The Cabinet Secretariat has instructed senior officials, including additional chief secretaries, divisional commissioners, and district magistrates, to ensure the implementation of this directive across all institutions. According to the new guidelines, singing 'Vande Mataram' at least once a week during morning prayer assemblies is mandatory.
Mandatory Singing of 'Vande Mataram' at Official Events
The song will also be required to be sung during national festivals, government events, and other official occasions. Officials have stated that this initiative aims to standardize the observance of the national anthem in educational and public institutions. The government has emphasized that individuals must stand respectfully when the national anthem is played, warning that any form of negligence or disrespect will be taken seriously.
Responsibility for Compliance
The responsibility for ensuring compliance has been assigned to the heads of institutions, who are tasked with monitoring adherence to the directive. However, the order clarifies that there is no requirement to stand during the national anthem when it is played in films or news broadcasts. This directive is part of a broader effort to reinforce formal practices associated with national symbols in public institutions.
