Bihar Minister Discusses BJP's Efforts in West Bengal

On Thursday, Bihar's Minister Ashok Chaudhary remarked on the forthcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, stating that the BJP is making every effort to secure a win in the state. He noted that while Mamata Banerjee has been in power for a considerable time, her political approach is quite distinctive. Chaudhary expressed optimism that if the NDA manages to form a government in Bengal, it would undoubtedly accelerate the state's development.

The assembly elections in West Bengal are scheduled for 2026. Issues such as the special intensive revision of the voter list and the increasing influx of migrants have emerged as hot topics likely to be discussed during the upcoming elections.

Political Tensions Rise Ahead of Elections

As the electoral battle intensifies, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have exchanged sharp criticisms. During a press conference, Shah accused Banerjee's government of halting development in West Bengal due to corruption, claiming that all beneficial schemes initiated by Modi have fallen victim to local syndicates. He highlighted that fear and corruption have become synonymous with West Bengal over the past 14 years.

Shah further stated that once the BJP forms a government in West Bengal after April 15, 2026, they will initiate efforts to revive the state's heritage and culture, emphasizing the significance of 'Banga Bhumi' to the BJP, which was founded by the prominent leader Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee. He also claimed that while infiltration has ceased in Tripura and Assam, it continues in West Bengal, suggesting that Banerjee aims to maintain it for political gain to expand her voter base.

In response, Banerjee fiercely countered Shah's allegations, likening BJP leaders to the mythological characters Duryodhana and Dushasana from the epic Mahabharata. She defended her government, stating that the TMC has allocated land for fencing in Petrapole and Andal.
